Kusuri Potassium Permanganate can be used for the treatment against parasites,Trichodina & Costia as well as a general disinfectant for ponds and equipment.

A good disinfectant for ponds and nets.
Excellent for the eradication of Trichodina & Costia, and other parasites.
It will discolour water for up to 7 days, and can be used down to 10°C (50°F).
At higher temperatures Potassium Permanganate removes oxygen from pond water, it is advisable to keep an air stone running and add more air if possible.
Kusuri Hydrogen Peroxide 6% can be used to increase the oxygen levels in pond water and also remove the discolouration from the pond water after a course of Kusuri Potassium Permanganate has oxidized from pink to brown.
From 14th of January 2013 it is illegal to send Potassium Permanganate via the Post Office as it is classified as an oxidising agent.

Kusuri recommend NOT using Potassium Permanganate with salt.

Wear disposable vinyl or latex gloves and appropriate eye protection.
Dosage:
6.8gms per 1000 gallons (4546 Litres) of pond water.
Do not use below 10°C (50°F).
Directions:
Measure the correct dosage for your pond. Add to a bucket of hot water and aerate for 20 miniutes to gas off any impurities. Fill a clean watering can with solution from the bucket, slowly apply to the pond over a 1 hour period. This will prevent shocking the pond with a highly concentrated dose.
Kusuri Potassium Permanganate will turn the water purple. Re-dose as required to achieve a minimum of 15 hours of purple coloured water e.g., 2 hours and the pond goes brown, redose, pond goes brown after 5 hours, redose, pond goes brown after 8 hours. 2+5+8=15 hours of purple water. Kusuri recommend adding Hydrogen Peroxide 6% to re-oxygenate and clear brown pond water.
Kusuri do NOT recommend the use of this chemical as a dip treatment.
